“Don’t Give Up” is a 3 song EP by Husnayyyyyy (Husnay), a member of the Traditional & Classic Ska unit from Tangerang, The Regards.

The EP from a soloist from the ska scene in the country is indeed something interesting. Maybe this is a highlight that needs to be underlined in the ska movement in Indonesia. Runs for 7 minutes and 34 seconds long, 3 instrumental tracks from Husnayyyyyy managed to convey the information about the musical style he chose, a ska set that doesn’t always come frequently.

The drawbar organ sound alike and chord progressions reminiscent of Studio 1’s world music ambassador, Jackie Mitoo, comes so solid in this mini album. The EP “Don’t Give Up” opened with “Come With Smile” which comes with the I-IV-V chords formula. Quite catchy Groove. Will Never Happen Again and Thanks For The Time finalised this mini album with their lower tempo which comes by the massive Maj7 chords style.

This EP’s production approach which seeks to capture an analog atmosphere is quite commendable. Let’s enjoy the optimism in ska with a classic style from the city of Tangerang!
