The Jamaican music scene in Thailand, can be noticed as one of the most growing scene in Southeast Asian region. They always give birth to “local pride” from each generation of reggae, ska, dub and dancehall acts. MONKEYKING420, with its ragga deejay set from Udon Thani – Northern Thailand is one of the action-worthy acts from Thailand.
Before coming up with the dancehall style, Hip Hop became a source of inspiration in the journey of his music career which began at the age of 14 years. MONKEYKING420 began to be influenced by Jamaican sounds in 2004, through famous dancehall names, such as Sean Paul, Shaggy and Elephantman. From here, he dived deeper into dancehall. In 2008, with his schoolmates, he formed the dancehall project Mightylionz. This group has produced 1 LP titled “Reggae Village One”.

Currently, he is focusing on his solo project, with a touch of raggamuffin in his work. Together with his brother, Isan, he formed the KINGNOCROWN FAMILY. In 2015, MONKEYKING420 collaborated with a sound system culture unit from Bangsaen – Thailand, Fyah Burning, they brought “Mr. Rub A Dub“. A song that received a positive response from the local scene, and was included in the compilation by Jahdub Stido, “Thailand Rub a Dub Vol. 1”.
