Southeast Asia’s region is quite involved to share its musical acts rooted in the Jamaican sound scene. Almost every country from this region contributes talents with various musical characters through their works.
In this edition, kultur would like to recommend Kyozawei for you, a reggae unit from Vientiane, Laos. The unit runs by of Duth (lead vocals), Ms Panoy (vocals), Honda (drums), Aye (bass), Emanuel (Khaen (Laos woodwind)), Lee – Phin (Laos or E-San guitar with 3 strings), Gunnie (trumpet) and Camp (guitar). They combine roots reggae and dub with traditional Laotian musical instruments in their music work. Kyozawei represents hope for love, work, dreams and freedom of thought.

Until 2022, they have produced 10 singles that can be enjoyed through their Youtube channels or various DSPs. And most recently, on September 9, 2022, Kyozawei just released their newest single “If You’re Feeling Blue”.
