Kultur’s recommendation for this edition is Avis Ramley, a soloist from Bekasi. This young talent whose real name is Haviouz Kurniawan admitted that he had fallen in love with music since he was 10. And it was in 2009 through his high school friend that he began to love reggae. 

He then formed a band called ‘Sakit Mata’ which only lasted a moment but then focused on doing solo. He had a single ‘Hey Manisku’ that was re-released in 2014. His love of music led him to a full time commitment to become a musician instead of a 9 to 5 job. To him music is a call. Consecutively he released singles in 2018, ‘Zalika,’ ‘Burn Down Babylon’ (2019), ‘Binari Hujan & Sabda Alam’ (2020) and ‘Fly High’ (2021).

At the moment he is involved in an EP with his new band ‘Roots Stereo’ which consist of songs like ‘Jesus Saviour,’ ‘Reggaeman,’ dan ‘Biarkan Waktu Bicara.’ The EP will be released this year. Well! All the best and Keep up the good work Avis !
