Brother Culture – “12 Lights” (LP)

A veteran MC from London – England, Brother Culture, on 23 October 2020 launched his newest LP entitled “12 Lights”.

Still in shape with his strong signature, the MC brings an energetic medium tempo into his every steppa dub style riddim. Compact electronic touch  with myriad infusion of echoes is one of the highlights on this release.

The initial track “Stepping Up” became a prologue to bring the listeners do the dance without hesitation, as well as an invitation to listen intently to what the MC said in the lyrics.

The sound system culture theme was adopted in “Battlefield”. Brother Culture, which came and shaped through an “underground” scene, seems eager to bring pride as one of the figures in this movement. Jah Shaka, Aba Shanti, Jah Tubbys and other icons were also summoned in this textual appreciation from him.

Brother Culture also brings the latest issues of the homeland. Being critical, speaks up loud and straightforwardly about socio-political topic with “Brexit” track.

“Create & Happen” was written as a homage and respect from him to all independent music scenesters for being original and keeping the independent spirit alive.

The likes of Radikal Vibration, Derrick Sound, Addis Records, Nello B and Little Lion also teamed up with Brother Culture in this “12 lights” LP. This powerful and insightful 16 track works of Brother Culture are already available on many streaming portals and music stores. And also for both CD and Vinyl format.
