This year, Shaggydog celebrated its silver age, 25 years since they formed on June 1, 1997, in Sayidan, a village in the center of Yogyakarta. All through those 25 years, they roll their good times with their music. One of the highlights between their ups and downs is they’re still solid with the winning team since their first day. Six studio albums, and several single releases have filled the discography list of this band made of Heru, Richard, Raymond, Bandizt, Lilik, and Yoyo. In fact, Shaggydog is also active in making fresh and even unique breakthroughs outside of the release of their musical works, such as the release of shoes, bicycles, mascots, and books. In celebrating his 25th birthday this time, Shaggydog brought up the title “Ber25ulang” with a series of events in the form of photo exhibitions and concerts to be held in Jakarta. A toast is a symbol of happiness and a celebration of togetherness while enjoying a drink. The toast celebrates Shaggydog’s 25 years of togetherness as a form of introspection of ups and downs in this short journey. A celebration that is not only for Shaggydog, but for all friends who brought Shaggydog together on this quarter century journey.

Shaggydog’s 25 Years Archive Exhibition

Shaggydog is one of the bands that are known for their good archiving through their journey. Starting from Shaggydog’s collaboration with Agen 56 to digitize the archive of the Shaggydog film which was collected from 1998 to 2006, Shaggydog and Agen 56 finally agreed to present an archival photo exhibition. entitled “Rudy’s Story: Record of Shaggydog’s 25 Years” which also became the agenda for the series of Shaggydog’s 25th birthday celebrations. From the digitalization of 47 rolls of the Shaggydog film negative archive, 1674 photos have been produced and have been curated into 319 photo frames to be exhibited, with 4 categories; Friends, Gigs, Fans, and Bands. In addition, this exhibition will also bring back the memorabilia corner of Shaggydog, as well as the response of the work by Yudha Kusuma Putra in the form of photo collages. The exhibition will take place from 24 to 27 August 2022 at Gudskul Ekosistem, Jakarta and can be visited from 13.00 to 19.00 WIB for free.

Shaggydog’s 25th Anniversary Concert

Shaggydog will also celebrate his 25th birthday through a solo concert which will be held in Jakarta, at M Bloc Space, Blok M, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta on August 25, 2022 starting at 19.00 WIB. At the show later, Shaggydog will highlight the best performances of each year throughout his musical career. Then the highlight performance will be packaged into a story that will be delivered on stage, looking back by bringing 25 selected songs from the first album to the latest album, across time from 1997 to 2022.
