Alaska-Q

Alaska-Q’s debut single “Danskaku” was released in early 2002. Consecutively, they released another single for free; Passer Boeah, Still waiting, and Flight to Babo. Their self-released mini album entitled “Something’s Changed” (2014) contains the material with new arrangements on CD format (cassette format released by Rookie Distribution later in 2015). Still in 2014 Alaska-Q released “Berteman Kata” (CD) which was also published in the Philippines region. This album was also released on cassette format by Soundclash Rekords in 2017. Previously, in 2013, Alaska-Q added to their discography by being involved in the compilation album “Return of the Rootbois vol.1” released by Pavilion Records and Revival Records.

Alaska-Q is a West Jakarta based Ska Outfit. Had experienced the glory of Poster Cafe as one of the epicenter of sidestream music performances in Indonesia. Also several historical venues and musical events in the city of Jakarta. Starting in 1999, with its young personnel, Alaska-Q still survives today even though many personnel have changed. Peter (Vocals & Keyboard) is the only remaining initial member. Until now, the ALaska-Q line up contains Seto (Los Javanian/ Caltonettes Serenade – Drum), Kumis (Borock n Roll -Bass), Doni (Ex Sletingdown – Lead guitar), Rofi (Everybody – Alto Sax), Ole Lemos (Tenor Sax). This formation adds a new color to Alaska-Q as the two new members having a rockabilly background.
