Muang Ake Soundsystem

They didn’t arrive with fanfare. No grand announcement — just action. They brought a Speaker Box.

They are Muang Ake Soundsystem: seven young selectors out of Thailand — U-an, Greatest, Spiritual Dub, Canthai, Gojo, Farhan, and Ras Salooh. Each one brings a different ear to the table, ranging from roots that nudge your head into a slow nod, to the kind of heavyweight dub that hits you square in the chest when the bass finally drops. That contrast is exactly what keeps their sets alive.
Their Speaker Box was built by Master Bimjo of Million Cat Hi Fi — and that’s where their story really begins. A straightforward decision, but one made with precision and intention. In sound system tradition, that’s never a minor footnote. That’s a declaration of who you are.

Their path has been shaped by two figures who carry serious weight in Bangkok’s sound system subculture: King Kong Killa and Sista Zine of Gonja Hi Fi. Under their influence, through countless performances at gigs and major festivals across the country, Muang Ake found something more than stage experience — they found a working understanding of what it truly means to play music within the ethics of sound system tradition.

Their journey is still unfolding, rooted in learning — modest in its steps, but sharp in its relevance. And they’re making it heard.
