Lots of Jamaican sound gigs are slowly back on the track now, one of those who held the party recently was the ska unit from Kediri, East Java – Indonesia, Semut Semut Merayap. The celebration that they called “Intimate Concert Semut Semut Merayap”, was held on June 25, 2022, at Skydisc Bar & Dine, Kediri. A series of guest stars also live up the party with them.

Exactly at 20:00 WIB, the party opened with the appearance of a soloist from Blitar, East Java – Indonesia, Abon Jhon, who was also on his own tour schedule at the same time. The warm atmosphere was then delivered by an act of Mount Kelud’s finest, DJ Ken.

Semut Semut Merayap took control with their energy by playing a long set with friends who were involved in their journey from the first time as guest stars that night. Names such as Ocex and Caplang (Elite Monkey, Kediri), Cak Man (the former vocalist of Heavy Monster, Surabaya), Heri (Banana Steady Beat, Blitar), Black Canyon (Kediri Hiphop Family) and Ardi Timbul (8986, Kediri) managed to infused a fresh vibration on their repertoires. They performed 18 songs, including the cover versions of Shaggydog and Toots And The Maytals with their great energy. Semut Semut Merayap closed their performance with their signature anthem, “KEDIRIKU”, which succeeded to bring another fire to the party.

“Semut Semut Merayap Intimate Concert” is such a nice effort from them to keep their work of art and also as a part of them to maintain the dynamics of Jamaican sound in the country, Long live to the power of Kediri!
