The Gravelites – Get It On!

The charming trio from Salatiga, The Gravelites is back with the update. Trio of Adya Nadira Arzak, Alfa Thomas Puji Handika and Edward Aji Kuntjoroyekti officially released their sophomore album entitled “Get It On!” on June 20th, 2021.

Get It On! Appears to describe the important steps of The Gravelites musical career path. 15 tracks on this album emphasize their existence, who debuted “VII Deadly Skank!” (2019) as a ‘one-man-project’ from Adya the motor and frontman of the band.

Still with the same formula from the debut album, Get It On! Came with the ingenious and agile tracks.  Something special in the realm of Indonesian ska’s scene. The Gravelites are like another hand to keep the fire of Instrumental Ska alive after another Indonesian pioneer, Sentimental Moods.

In a press release sent to kultur, the trio underlined their production approach. Solid, densed & thick, and straightforward are the common threads of Get It On!. Although it came with the slight lyrical and rhyming from Edward aji’s infusion, The Gravelite’s instrumental strength remains. Cultural and historical diction in the treasury of ska they pinned as the title of their instrumental songs. It’s like a manifesto from The Gravelites who believe that “music can speak by itself”, as well as a soulful dialectic representation of a “quarter notes in an off-beat accent” from this Salatiga’s trio.

The album is already available on various DSPs distributed by HellRat Records, who also attached an original photo album of Dave Saparinggal. The artwork and audio treatment on this album was done by Adya and recorded at Hyphen Studio.
