The Regards

Although not as massive as the mid-1990s era, the Indonesian ska scene has not lost its charms. The new generations come with their attractive style and charming composition.

One of the recommendations in this edition from kultur is an 8 piece music unit from the city of Tangerang – Banten. They are Anjar Tri Harjanto (vocals), Bagus Adi (guitar/vocals), Gerry L Fauzi (guitar/vocals), Muhammad Husni M (keyboards), Gilang Fresandy (drums), Alfa Shidqi (saxophone) and Prabu Tri Prawekas (trumpets). Gathered since Ramadan in 2019, they call themselves The Regards.

With great inspiration from the 2Tone movement and the infusion of personal references, The Regards brings exceptional compositions to the ranks of today’s ska music units in the country. They are able to bring back the folk spirit in ska in a happy way. The EP “Probation Vol.1” was released to coincide with the holy day, May 1st. The regards is like bringing their own aphorism to the public about the working class. Previously, in October 2020 they released “Yes Sir!” a witty-satire-yet-powerful-sing-along single. Of course, it has a powerful mantra to burn the dance floor.

Joined with “Langen Srawa Records”, The Regards, released “Probation Vol.1” on a cassette format, as well as on the bandcamp channel. A reflective choice from The Regards to distribute their work.

We recommend this wiz-kid music unit, get the latest news and updates from The Regards via their social media channels:
