KunoKini

In this era, technological advances have developed rapidly. Perhaps, only a handful of people still listen to ethnic musical instruments. An experimental percussion group, KunoKini, has remained solid since 2013. They bring traditional music with modern infusion.

KunoKini was formed in Jakarta, their line up now are Bhismo and Bebi. Starting their career as a supporting act for dance performances in a Folklore Festival in Wismar, Germany. KunoKini is a combination of two very contrasting words. “Kuno” means traditional and “Kini” means present day. These two words are their thought to represent both the music and the philosophy that underlies KunoKini itself. Using Indonesianand world traditional musical instruments. They keep Indonesian culture by bringing its uniqueness with an infusion of Raggamuffin style.

This exceptional outfit has been around — both in the national and international level– has had several solo concerts. And has spawned one LP – ‘Reincarnation’ (2010). Then the single ‘Hey Beb!’ (2016) in collaboration with Kallula. As well as releasing a magical single with deep hypnotic power, the result of a collaboration with Dani; ‘Anak Panah’ (2020).
