The city of Barcelona is indeed one of the interesting parts of the world to listen to if you wanna know about another hype of Jamaican sound. The movement is very massive, producing many capable acts. One thing that needs to be underlined from this scene is the birth of female figures who are actively part of the scene there. One of them is Matah, a talented reggae soloist from Barcelona’s underground scene.

Matah started her career 10 years ago, starting with La Kinky Beat. She was influenced by punk, electronic and jazz, before she took reggae as her path. Currently, She is often involved in collaborations with well-known producers, such as Chalart58 and Fermin Muguruza. In 2018, Matah joined the Women Soldier Project. Matah then sparkled even more through her vocal signature; she has explored many prestigious stages in Europe and Latin America.

In March 2021, she released the single “Music Box“, which was followed by “For You” and “Twinkling Star” to be added to her discography. And some of her music videos can also be watched on La Panchita Records Youtube channel.
