Tropical Forest is a Malang – East Java, Indonesia based reggae outfit which was formed in mid 2008.

With the line up Unyil (vocals), Koko (guitar), Daffa (keyboards), Andre (Bass) and Miko (drums) has released three albums. “Bumi Merintih” (2010), “Nature Scene” (2019) and their most recent release is “Naturesound” which was launched on July 1, 2020.

This outfit brings awareness about mother nature, also human’s consciousness and the interaction with nature as their lyrical theme.  With that approach, Tropical Forest became one of Indonesian reggae units that succeed in injecting a different color amongst their fellow Indonesian reggae based outfits.

Their composition is so varied, sometimes Tropical Forest deliver us the vibe of Junior Murvin‘s “I was appointed”, the excerpt of minor scale on some of their intros is also something interesting about this outfit. Another note is about the collaborators they bring into their own discography. Emilio Gangstarasta, Conrad Good Vibration and Chipeng (Begundal Lowokwaru).

From the city of Malang, Tropical Forest carries a profound attitude, something that we should listen to attentively.
