A set Of Music Video Trilogy from Social Hitam Putih

Social Hitam Putih (SHP) is one of the ska music outfits from the city of Yogyakarta. SHP brings a jazzy touch to the “Traditional Ska” style which becomes their own musical foundation.

In 2016 SHP released a three-track demo on CD format. The tracklist are “Journey At The Midnight”, “Where Are You Rudy?” and “Pemuja Senyuman”.

SHP is bringing a trilogy concept for their music video. In August 2019 they released a single entitled “Berbahagialah” in a music video format via Social Hitam Putih YouTube channel. “Berbahagialah” is the first part of this trilogy concept. As in their press release, they wrote: “ ‘Berbahagialah’ tells about the main characters (Tulus and his brother) where Tulus lost his source of happiness, because Tulus’s girlfriend left him and apparently chose another man in the middle of their fine relationship. Tulus’s younger brother then simply cheered him up by asking him to take a  walk together.”

On 18 October 2020, SHP released their next single, “Feel Good Everyday”, the second sequel to their music video trilogy concept. This second video from their trilogy comes with the same characters and main actors as the first video series; “Berbahagialah“. This time it illustrates what happened one year later. With the images of the brothers who are trying to enjoy the afternoon vibe after they moved to one of the rural parts of Yogyakarta, SHP quoted on their press release.

This power sextet from the city of Jogja consists of Dimas Ciken (vocals), Ajik (Guitar), Ade Kibil (Bass), Diksi (keyboard / organ), Bagus (drums), and Gerry (Saxophone). This line-up will hold a “screening” session for their music video “Feel Good Everyday” at “Ekstens Coffee and Space” on Sunday, October 18 2020 at 7 pm. This session is also going to be a celebration of their 10 year career. This session will be hosted by MC Hellodhika and Latif Shulaiman. And It will also feature the DJ Selekta “Bovver Lover“.
