Los Guardianes de Gregory is a Buenos Aires outfit carrying roots reggae with its feet planted firmly in Jamaican spirit while flourishing across South American soil. The fingerprints of Roots Radics and the rhythmic touch of Sly & Robbie run through every composition — a documentation of reggae tradition locked in with Latin color.
The formation is driven by producer Federico “FedaRoots” Soto Roland alongside Marcelo “Gummy” Orellano, Matos Quintana, and Edu Gutierrez. Their reputation grew as a backing band accompanying Latin American singers through the legendary reggae catalog — including Argentine reggae soloist Bahiano throughout 2021 and 2022.
Their catalog speaks clearly about who they honor: “Cantos Gregorianos” for Gregory Isaacs, “La Misma Canción” for Israel Vibration, “Spanish Ruiseñor” for Don Carlos, “Sonidos de Libertad” for Black Uhuru, and “Santísima Trinidad” celebrating Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, and Bob Marley all at once.
