Jahwanay – “Son Of a Bitch”

From Bekasi, duo Jahwanay drops “Son of a Bitch” — a single that pours out raw emotion, resistance, and the human experience of facing betrayal and the weight of life pressing down.

Dicky Hermawan and Abuya Ilham wrote the composition. Abuya Ilham handled arrangement, production, mixing, and mastering all at once. The session was recorded at Redlane Music Studio, Bekasi.

“Son of a Bitch” is the curtain raiser for the duo’s debut album. What makes this release interesting is where its sharpest narrative comes from; borrowed straight from the thoughts of Michael Corleone and Henry Hill. Jahwanay lifts the vocabulary of The Godfather and Goodfellas and drops it into a poisonous riddim to infect the crowd to sing along with them. The raw material is strong. When the full album arrives, it should hit harder. Their voice is already more than enough, because they need no borrowed lines.
