From the heart of Central Papua, the current roots & culture reggae finds its voice through AMOYE BAND, a collective that treats reggae as a medium for expressing their musical identity.

Operating under the umbrella of the Amoye Music Foundation, the group features Aten Tebay, Petrus Pigai, Andreas Tebay, Ronny Pekey, Abraham Yamoti Badii, and Daniel Nomontem. Each member brings influences rooted in different parts of Papua—from Paniai, Dogiyai, and Deiyai to Boven Digul Muyu—forming a collective sound shaped by diverse local backgrounds.
Through their EP “RAISE YOUR HAND,” the six-piece formulates a musical statement reflecting the social and cultural realities surrounding them. Each track is arranged as part of a connected message. The title track, “Raise Your Hand,” feels like a collective call to rise and make one’s voice heard, while “Freedom in the Air” carries an atmosphere of hope and liberation, wrapped in warm, steady rhythms.
