A solo artist rooted in raggamuffin style within sound system culture, Mr. Williamz returns with a new track titled “We Run The Scene”, released via the imprint Evidence Music. This time, he teams up with a fellow UK compatriot as collaborator: Reggae Roast.

Taken as a whole, the single comes across as a firm statement within the landscape of contemporary dancehall. Functioning as a curtain-raiser, the track successfully offers a glimpse into the excitement promised by the upcoming EP We Run The Scene, slated for release in the near future.
Reggae Roast immediately delivers dense, well-measured low-frequency pressure from the very start. There’s a strong sense of revivalism drawn from the aesthetics of 1990s Dancehall—yet without falling into mere nostalgia. The sonic approach feels fresh, marked by more precise rhythmic structures and beat textures that remain relevant to modern styles. This is where Mr. Williamz underlined his central role.
The narrative axis of the vocal department effectively binds the variables within the composition. His distinctive vocal character moves fluidly over the heavy production landscape, creating a dialogue between tradition and progression. “We Run The Scene” feels highly compatible with sound system culture, festival stages, and selectors seeking material with a forward-looking orientation.
The energy carried by this release is strong enough to be considered a strategic step toward the release of the EP We Run The Scene, scheduled to arrive in May.
