MouseFX – “MouseFX In Jamaica” – EP
“When Robert Nesta Marley predicts that Reggae music will reach all four corners of the world, MouseFX connects the dot from Hong Kong to Jamaica” a sentence contained in the press release of MouseFX. This cantonese reggae specialist from Hong Kong, has just released his latest EP entitled “MouseFX In Jamaica” on vinyl and digital versions.
An active figure in the Reggae scene in Hong Kong since the 90s, has returned with a brand-new work. In this EP, he unified the cantonese signal of MouseFX together with Heavy Hong Kong Sound System conducted the frequency diplomacy to Jamaica.
The EP recording process was taken at Tabernacle Studio, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. With Skunga Kong (Skunga Records) acting as the producer for the EP, he is the son of the veteran Cantonese reggae in Jamaica, I Kong, who is also the nephew of “legendary producer” Leslie Kong. Skunga also contributed power through drums and percussion to this EP.
This effort to work with sincerity has proven to be powerful. The harmonization present in the opening track of “Reggae Party” made this happen. The combination of patois raggamuffin and cantonese style is so unified, making the MouseFX flag fly high until the end of a total of 6 tracks on this EP “MouseFX in Jamaica”.
