Rio Dafcar Efruan

It cannot be denied that the eastern part of Indonesia always has special and authentic talents in music and no exception in the scene of Jamaican sound as well. One of them would be from the city of music, Ambon, Moluccas. It is an honour for Kultur to present in brief one of its reggae talents, Rio Dafcar Efruan who is also known as a member of the band ‘Amboina Reggae Paser Putih.

His passion for reggae music is so powerful. To keep his existence and dedication toward Jamaican music, he started his solo project in 2017. Hitherto, he has released several single hits, among others are “Selamat datang di Maluku Tenggara” (2018), “Keliling Indonesia” (2020), “Rindu Kamu” (2020), “Pantun Marmer” (2020), “Cinta Tra Perna Bikin Bodoh” (2020), and “Bambu Gila (2020).    

Other than making music Rio is an architect. He also has a talk show on Facebook “Reggae Teh Sore” every Sunday afternoon, talking about music, culture and its diversity.
