Brazil is not only producing its charm via Samba and football. Lots of Jamaican musical outfits also thrive in this region. One of them is the Parahyba Ska Jazz Foundation, a ska unit from Paraiba – North Brazil which has been skankin’ since 2014.

This instrumental band led by Francisco Vasconcelos (bateria), Everton Cavalcante (bass), Alysson Jorge (guitar), Renato Oliveira (keyboards), Alysson Ramalho (trumpet), Sandro Rodrigo (trombone) and Rodrigo Marques (saxophone) brings the infosion between ska and jazz into their works, which worked well for them to expand their career outside Paraiba.

Parahyba Ska Jazz Foundation’s repertoire is so distinctive. They blend their powerful setlist with a solid dance vibe. This is one of their charms on every stage they had, a dance guarantee show.

They have also produced singles in 2020 with the titles “Smoke Minister” and “OvniSka” which are available on various digital platforms along with animations video that are very interesting to watch.
