Here comes another music unit from the city of Surabaya as a part of Jamaican music records in Indonesia.
Starting in 2007, this outfit still uses the name “Tanpa Atap”. A name inspired by the place where they hang out. A melting pot for many Surabaya’s scenesters.
They then changed their name to Lantai Dua Berdansa after getting more and found lots of energy at that time. From reggae, they then explored further by combining ska, rocksteady and raggamuffin infusion as the foundation of their music.
“Lantai Dua Berdansa” is a fascinating music unit from the city of Surabaya. They present their own music through regular gigs at various cafes, nightclubs and hotels in Surabaya and various other cities. They even had time to become a resident band there with their daily regular show.
Currently, the line-up of “Lantai Dua Berdansa” is Emon (bass) and Oki (drums), a pair of couples, Yongki (guitar) & Shirley as front woman.
Last January they released “Runaway”, a single implemented by their exploration. Groovy track about characters and identity in the twists of life. “Lantai Dua Berdansa” is also currently preparing for their follow-up single, ‘This Feeling’ which they will release in the near future. A track with roots reggae in acoustic format.
