The development of the sound system culture in the Philippines cannot be underestimated. They produce several producers, selectors and MCs who gave their own color to the Jamaican music scene there. One of them is King Spade, a talented MC from Mactan Island, Cebu – Philippines.

The man whose real name is Simon Nunez started his musical career as a bassist for several local bands in Cebu. He then joined Powerspoonz, a group that brings a combination of rock, reggae and dancehall. After the second album “Inna Stereo” was released, he decided to leave and choose a microphone as his new journey and focus as MC for dub, reggae and the like.

His meeting with legendary Manila-Philippines dub / reggae producer Red-I resulted in a single called “Herbalist”. In mid-2019, they both released an EP titled “Kings Music” with the hit single “Soundsystem“. Not stopping there, in 2020 the two of them again launched their single “Babylon Fall“.
